MobArt designs

When I started my first MobArt workshops, I found that the majority of young people had no bluetooth capabilities on their mobile devices, let alone any idea how to use it. This time round, at MobArt: Horizons, the situation was very different.

Every night the workshops ran, young people were sharing music between their phones, portable speakers played their music direct from mobile phone music players, photographs were taken, videos played - a wide variety of activities took place informally between friends on their own mobile devices.

I first set out to use the MobArt project as a way of subverting the preconceptions of how and why young people use mobile phones. This time, the intention was more focused on techniques for more creative use of the mobile phone features such as video, image and audio recording.

These logos were used to advertise the event, both in the initial MobArt: Lydney, and the most recent MobArt: Horizons.
